About

ProfileSmallI’ve created this space to share my opinions and thoughts about music and recording.  Although my opinions are often strong, they are just that…opinons.  I don’t claim to be an expert but I do have a good amount of experience with audio production, recording, mixing, etc.  I’ve worked for many top recording and mastering studios, as well as the CBC and Humber College.  Prior to that, I received two degrees from McGill University in Montreal; an M.Mus in Sound Recording and  a B.Mus in Music Technologies.  I also spent some time developing my skills at the Banff Centre.  Currently, I’m freelancing in the Toronto area, specializing mostly in mixing and mastering.  For those who are interested, I’ve included a more “formal” bio below:

Award winning audio engineer, Reuben Ghose, combines his music, artistic and production backgrounds to provide mixes that separate his clients from the crowd. Through his stints with CBC Radio as well as various Toronto based studios (The Lacquer Channel, Phase One Studios, Reaction Studios, D.A.V.E. Audio), Reuben has worked with many top artists such as Death Cab For Cutie, Chantal Kreviazuk, Kevin Drew (Broken Social Scene) and Hawksley Workman.

Prior to his engineering career, Reuben was an active musician in the Montreal scene playing keyboards and guitar.  He studied at McGill University obtaining his M.Mus in Sound Recording and B.Mus in Music Technologies.  Reuben’s work has been recognized with awards from CARAS, the Western Canadian Music Awards, Downbeat and the Audio Engineering Society.
